Milkshakes, burgers and a bunch of new menu item to try at Cosmic Diner for a fun casual dining experience with family and friends during your holiday in Bali...
If you’re looking for a casual restaurant to satisfy every single individual in your group during your holiday with family and friends in Bali, then Cosmic Diner is where you should go. It has been four years since Cosmic Diner opened on the corner of Sunset Road and Dewi Sri in Kuta, yet this restaurant will never fail to surprise you with their famous burgers and milkshakes as well as an eyecatching Pop Art interior design. And with music from the ‘50s playing in the background, you will feel as if you were in a diner in the USA.
This year, Cosmic Diner has launched a number of delectable new dishes, giving you all the more reason to visit this restaurant. So take your family to Cosmic Diner and get ready to indulge in their simple and classic Western dishes...
To start with, the burgers at Cosmic Diner are still the star of the menu, but they are now taken to a whole new level with Wagyu beef patties. The meat is a mix of chuck, brisket and short ribs, and sourced from 100 percent growth hormone free cows. The Original Burger never goes wrong with pickled red onion, a brioche bun, tomato, lettuce and Cosmic Sauce that gives an elevated flavor to a classic American burger. But for me, burgers are incomplete without cheese, so the Cheeseburger is the winning option with matured Cheddar.
But for those who are not up for a burger, let’s take a look at their latest creations on the menu. The New York Hot Dog is definitely a must-try with its beef Frankfurter sausage, yellow mustard and ketchup. The hot dog is also served with caramelized onion and bacon jam that gives a sweet twist to the savory flavor of the sausage, creating a perfect combination.
Another option is the Memphis Pulled Pork Sandwich. Served with a brioche bun and coleslaw, this sandwich is different from any sandwich there is on the island because the meat is braised for 18 hours! The slow-cooking process makes the meat tender and flavorsome, as the meat and the seasoning beautifully blend together. The Memphis Pulled Pork Sandwich has Carolina Gold BBQ sauce that gives a sweet and tangy twist to the dish. The burgers, the hot dog and the sandwich also comes with French fries on the side which you can upgrade to Cheese or Truffle fries.
For a lighter option, the Truffle Mac & Cheese from the Pasta list is also a star of the house. This dish is not just perfect for cheese lovers with matured Cheddar, American Cheddar, Grana Padano and Mozzarella, but it also elevates the traditional Mac & Cheese with truffle oil that gives it a bold flavor. Sprinkles of bone marrow and bacon crumble on top also adds a sensational crunch to this dish. And as if that’s not enough, you can opt to add butter poached Jimbaran bamboo lobster – an exquisite Mac & Cheese done right, I must say!
Aside from these new creations, some of the old menu items are still all-time favorites such as the Chicken Parmigiana – a breaded chicken breast served with tomato sauce and a choice of French fries, Parmesan buttered rice or mashed potatoes – and the Beer-Battered Fish & Chips.
Shake, Shake, Shake!
Not only does Cosmic Diner introduce new dishes, they also offer several new drinks to try. The fruit smoothies are really fresh and made of natural ingredients with no added sugar. There are three fruit smoothies to choose from – Berrylicious, Mango Madness and Go Bananas! I personally love the Berrylicious, which combines blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, acai, maple and yoghurt, resulting in a beautiful purple-colored drink with a real refreshing flavor.
Cosmic Diner also has a list of cold-pressed juices, cocktails, wine and beer, but their Milkshakes are still the highlight of the house – and your little ones will love them for sure. From the Nutella milkshake to cookies and cream, Snickers bar, classic vanilla, coconut, salted caramel and more – Cosmic Diner has them all! Adults can also enjoy some alcohol-infused milkshakes such as Rocky Road with Baileys gelato, and toasted marshmallow and Kahlua. A little tip for the sweet tooth – the milkshake is best paired with the dessert, such as (You’re the) Devil in Disguise – a choice of pancakes or waffles with Nutella and Snickers bar gelato.
