Start the new year feeling rejuvenated with a treatment at Therapy Seminyak...

Be it to ease sore muscles or high-level stress, Therapy Seminyak will boost your positive energy with their various treatments. Not only do they have treatments that are worth two thumbs up, the contemporary design of their interior and the spa kits are also worth a second glance. Therapy Seminyak pretty much sums up how a spa should make guests feel; rejuvenated and renewed.

    Still In Euphoria
Relax without a cause – that is how I can describe Therapy Seminyak in one sentence. Whether you are tired or feeling chilled out already – or maybe just numb – Therapy Seminyak will give you the same amount of relaxation and you don’t need to have a single reason to take one of their treatments. Just by looking at their bohemian-mix- Balinese interior design it can simply put a light in your eyes already. The blend of orange and grey colors that dominate the wall and interior somehow gives a warm touch to the space as well.

As far as I know, Seminyak is home to many amazing salons and spas. You can name the treatment you wish to have and you can defi nitely find it in the neighborhood. But as soon as I entered Therapy Seminyak, I believed that this was certainly a new and wonderful addition to the beauty scene in Seminyak. When I saw the menu, I was bemused by how creative the names of the treatments were. The one that attracted me the most was The Ultimate Euphoria – I was sold. The word “euphoria” somehow hinted that this massage treatment would get me into deep relaxation. After I chose the treatment, the receptionist asked me to sit while waiting for the therapist to prepare the room. She then handed me a glass of lemongrass water for refreshment as well as a pair of Havaianas sandals to wear. This shows that Therapy pays detailed attention to make sure their guests feel comfortable even before they head to the treatment room.

Once the room was ready, the therapist escorted me across a lane that functioned as a bridge to get to the spa room. In that lane where the ceiling is adorned with white umbrellas, I sat on one of those stools to get my foot rubbed and scrubbed with peppermint sea salt. After the 10-minute foot wash, I entered the treatment room and found an adorable straw bag with a bohemian ornament. It was there for me to store my clothes and belongings in.

Without hesitation I lay down on the massage bed and the therapist began to shake my whole body. Then a heated pad was put on my back, and all of a sudden, my nerves were calm. From what I read on the menu, this Therapy signature massage aims to ease muscle tensions and detoxify the body – I wondered how a massage treatment could detox my body? But then the therapist put the heated pad on my back and neck, and I could feel the pad sent a therapeutic warmth to my body that caused me to sweat. The therapist also gave on-point pressure that calmed my tension. She then put me in a yoga tree pose while I was still lying down, before giving me a gentle massage on my thighs and legs. It was firm yet relaxing at the same time.

When the 90-minute treatment had almost came to an end, the therapist told me to stay put and, as I lied facing up, she started to wrap me with a cloth. When I was tightly wrapped, I discovered that this treatment was more or less similar to a Thai Massage where at the end of the treatment the therapist pulls and stretches the neck and head, and lifts the legs into a half handstand position then swung them to the right and left. This part of the treatment was to stretch my whole body, and that’s why I needed to be wrapped, to make me feel warm and prevent me from making any sudden movements while the therapist stretched my body. Trust me, I have never felt more flexible.

    The Face Game
Not ready to check out of this sanctuary just yet I opted to have another treatment, the name also tempting. It was the Sparkling Iceballs, a 60-minute facial treatment that incorporated blue sparkling ice balls, serum, cleanser and gentle pressure points on the face. The therapist asked me to lay down face up before she began to put cleanser on my face and neck. Then she put serum on some sensitive spots on my face and left it for a while to let my skin absorb the cleanser and serum. She did not leave me for long time before coming back to give a gentle massage and press my facial stress points. It felt like there was magic in her hands because when she put her palm on my cheek and forehead I felt warm. I could also feel that my blood circulation was flowing more smoothly in my face.

She massaged and pressed my facial points for about 30 minutes until I dozed off. I woke up just when she finished the face massage and began the final yet most exciting part of this facial: the sparkling iceballs. The therapist put two iceballs on my face and ran them around my face, neck and decollete. It was cold and refreshing. At that point I could tell that Therapy’s treatments had recharged my energy and rejuvenated my skin. And because of that, I would defi nitely give this sanctuary another visit.
