Rejuvenate your skin with the new thousand flower wrap treatment at Anantara Spa...

After indulging in all those alcoholic drinks and delicious foods during your year-end holiday on the island, it is only right that you detox yourself to rejuvenate your skin before flying back home. The new Thousand Flower Wrap at Anantara Spa in Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort is the perfect choice to get pampered with a relaxing treatment, while at the same time get rid of the toxins in your body using the renowned Elemis skincare products. Come and join me as I enjoyed the treatment on a recent calming afternoon...

    From Head to Toe
Friendly smiles greeted me as I set foot in the spa located on the rooftop level of Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort. The spa boasts a chic design with white dominating the interior, yet it doesn’t feel intimidating as the staff presents warm hospitality. As I sat on the comfortable sofa, a cup of hot ginger tea was served in front of me. The staff also handed me a form to fill in, consisting of details about my massage preferences, including the type of music that I would like to accompany me during treatment. Choices of music include chill out, dream state, eastern harmony and grounding element. I chose the dream state as I needed to be in complete relaxation.

While I was filling in the form, Spa Manager Putu Cesti Arni approached me and explained everything about their new treatment, the Thousand Flower Wrap. “This treatment is actually designed for those who have been living a healthy life at home, yet they consume various foods and drinks to enjoy their holiday. The treatment is perfect for detoxification before heading back home after a holiday in Bali,” Cesti explained. “It is also wonderful for people whose skin became dry due to weather change or climate difference between Bali and their homeland. The Thousand Flower Wrap helps rejuvenate their skin and makes them glow.”

Listening to Cesti’s explanation about the treatment, I was intrigued. Without a second thought, I opted to try the 90-minute treatment with Elemis skincare products used throughout the ritual. Then, a therapist took me to one of the treatment rooms where my spa journey started with a compulsory footbath. Using a concoction of honey and milk bath to smoothen the skin, the footbath also relaxed me with a foot massage and scrub using salt for exfoliation, and a mix of lavender and peppermint spray to refresh my skin.

Then, the therapist asked me to lie down for the next step; the body massage. Using Elemis’ Green Tea Oil, the therapist massaged my body with fast movement which includes frictions, thumb slides and cuppings. This technique aims to crush cellulites and fat on the first step of detoxification. Then, she brushed my whole body and smeared on more green tea oil before she finally applied Elemis’ Green Tea Algoserum to rejuvenate my skin cells.

And then it was time for the Thousand Flower Wrap. The therapist applied a gel onto my body, and wrapped me tightly in a blanket. This step aims to get rid of the toxins in my body through sweating and to renew my skin cells. While I was wrapped in a blanket, the therapist gave me a facial treatment using Elemis’ Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss, which led me to a deeper relaxation.

After 15 minutes, she woke me up and told me to take a shower within the treatment room. Before leaving the room, she reminded me to knock on the door to sign that I was done showering. Under the running hot water, I cleansed the gel from my body and I could feel my skin was smooth already. Just as instructed, I knocked on the door afterwards. She returned and asked me to lie down one more time on the bed for the final step; applying the green tea body balm on my body and hydra boost day cream on my face for moisturizer.

I was still in Zen when I walked out of the room and sat in the spa lobby, enjoying refreshments served after my treatment. Cesti welcomed me back to the lobby and reminded me not to be afraid if there was one or two acne pimples on my face after having this treatment as it is still a part of detoxification. “All you have to do is drink a lot of water,” she said. Walking out of the spa, I felt rejuvenated and refreshed at the same time, and I believe you will too after this treatment.
