Located at Mangupura Hall, this yoga session invites everyone to improve their health and help children in need as all funds raised will benefit UNICEF Check Out for Children Program. This is definitely a chance not to be missed by all yoga enthusiasts in Bali. To Bali & Beyond (BB), Anjasmara (A) shares his passion in yoga.
BB: You have been familiar with yoga since the ‘90s and have been meditating since early 2000s. What made you first interested in yoga and meditation?
A: At that time, I felt that meditation help me control my level of stress. Through meditation, I get to know myself better and find my purpose in life. And yoga helps me with my meditation and makes me more aware of my own body.
BB: Where did you learn yoga? We heard you once flew to India for a yoga activity...
A: I learnt yoga at Gudang Gudang Yoga Studio in Jakarta to take the 200 E-RYT and 500 RYT yoga alliance license. And I went to India once to conduct a class at the Rhishikesh International Film and Yoga Festival. India is where yoga was born, so it was a compulsory for me to go there and learn more about yoga at its ‘birthplace’.
BB: Do you feel any difference before and after yoga becomes your routine?
A: I get to know my body better and I can manage my stress level better. And for sure, I have a better quality of life. Aside from yoga, my health routine includes riding a bike, living on a healthy diet and having enough rest.
BB: What made you interested in joining the UNICEF Charity Yoga?
A: I want to share my passion in yoga with other yoga enthusiasts to help create a better future for unfortunate children in Indonesia and across the world. As a yoga instructor, I feel honored that many participants would gather and do yoga together to give back and support UNICEF Check Out for Children Program.
BB: Do you have any special messages to motivate the participants in your class to keep on doing yoga?
A: Just keep on exercising and improving your consciousness on everything that is happening in your life. Keep on spreading love everywhere you go. Love, peace and share.
