Sanur’s New Vibe
Lounging at the first beach club in Sanur...
Everyone would agree that bringing a beach club to quiet Sanur is definitely an innovation. Officially opened right before the celebration of New Year 2018, Artotel Beach Club (ABC) gives a fresh, energetic vibe to the neighborhood. Not only is this place the newest addition to the Artotel group, it is also a breakthrough in Sanur, an area that is renowned for its slow and easy ambiance.
I personally think that it takes courage to establish a beach club in Sanur, and ABC has done a remarkable job of that. Nestled on the beachfront, ABC creates a one-stop leisure space with modern design where guests – be it children, youths or adults – can unwind amidst the natural surroundings.
Take a dip in the pool while sipping fresh cocktails from the pool bar or simply relax on one of the loungers while enjoying a view of the beach and the ocean – chilling at ABC will certainly be time well spent, especially when accompanied by their delicious dishes. For a more fun experience, come on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy a live acoustic performance or on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to relax with ‘80s and ‘90s music in the background.
ABC offers a variety of delicious food to please every palate, courtesy of the Brazilian-Indonesian chef. During my lunch at the beach club, I opted to have the Grilled Yellow Fin Tuna Salad. Consisting of tuna, slices of fresh fruits and greens, this salad is not only healthy but also refreshing to indulge in.
I am a fan of lamb meat, so I chose their newest menu item for my main course – the Kalio Betis Kambing or the lamb shank. The lamb meat is tender as it is stewed in coconut milk gravy, and is even more delicious with a portion of steamed white rice. When I took the first bite, the flavor reminded me of a similar dish my family always cooks every year on the Eid al-Fitr day, a holy day for Muslims at the end of their fasting month.
Once the main course was done, I decided to linger a little while and lie on one of the loungers. Enjoying the sun and the tranquil view of the beach, my experience was even better as I indulged in the Soft Shell Crabs for light bites – the crabs are so soft and the dressing perfectly makes the dish even tastier.
Of course, I didn’t forget to order some cocktails. I chose the Dragonfly that is refreshing with a combination of bourbon, fresh dragon fruit, and a little bit of vanilla and lime juice. Another recommended cocktail is the Jeruk Bali (Bali Orange) that consists of fresh pomelo, kaffir lime leaf and Juniper berries. Indeed, summer days are better at ABC.
