Journey to an Absolute Wellbeing
Under the bright blue sky and surrounded by the cool sea breeze on a beautiful Wednesday, I felt so empowered as I joined the Karma Fitness & Spa Week at the Karma Spa. It was certainly a routine I needed after a long week full of work.
The wellness journey started with a Pilates class – I personally think it was the best way to begin a day full of healthy routine. So, there I was, practicing Pilates with other participants of #karmawellness week on a cliff, trying to redirect our soul and body to a positive path, all the while enjoying a magnificent view of the tranquil ocean. As a first-timer for this therapy, I found myself easily followed the gentle movements as instructed by Jo Richard, the Pilates guru from the UK.
After one productive hour to burn calories, the wellness day moved on to an exceptional body treatment. Atik, my therapist who has been working at Karma Spa for over eight years, gave me the treatment that I exactly needed. She is one of the anatomy-trained body workers at Karma Spa, and is also an expertise in giving a deep healing that every guest needs – so I was sure that I was in good hands.
The spa treatment began with a careful observation on my health through a question-and-answer session over a cup of warm ginger tea. Karma Spa offers a detailed and personalized service – they even gave me suggestions on what kind of treatment that suits with my body. After a much consideration, I opted for the 75-minute massage at the Ocean Spa area.
Then, I entered the therapy room. Boasting a stunning view of the ocean right from the massage bed, the spa room has a comfortable ambiance with a soothing sound of the rolling waves. Once I laid down, my therapist gave me a super relaxing massage that I instantly fell asleep.
When the treatment was done, I felt so re-energized and relaxed. It was even better because it was time for lunch. Perfect! I went to Di Mare restaurant, where delicious healthy dishes and energy smoothies were waiting for the participants of #karmawellness week. The lunch menu choices included a Red Snapper Ceviche that was so refreshing with ginger kombucha, chili and corn chips, and a bowl full of quinoa served with avocado and lemon. Another must-try was the tempeh cooked in curry served with red rice and almonds.
The Karma Fitness & Spa Week is launched in all Karma Resorts around the globe. This program includes complimentary daily fitness sessions, 50 percent discounts on a treatment of your choice at Karma Spa, be it in the Clifftop Spa or the Ocean Spa. Now, keep your eyes and ears open for the next #karmawellness week so you won’t miss it!
